This desk lamp is designed by Eileen Gray for Jumo France ca 1940. Jumo has especially made a name because of their reliability and the production of Art Deco lamps. The lamp is made from corrugated steel, black painted and brass pipe. Β The double arm can be tilted both forwards and backwards and the reflectors screen can be rotated with its own asix.

 

Eileen GrayΒ was an Irish architect and furniture designer who became a pioneer of the Modern MovementΒ in architecture. Over her career, she was associated with many notable European artists of her era, includingΒ Kathleen Scott,Β Adrienne Gorska,Β Le Corbusier, andΒ Jean Badovici, with whom she was romantically involved. Her most famous work is the house known asΒ E-1027Β inΒ Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France.
