This elegant transition poudreuse dates ca 1775 and has stunning marquetry inlay with intricate geometric and pictorial designs, including urns, drapery motifs, and classical scenes. It stands on cabriole legs with gilded bronze mounts, emphasizing its sophisticated craftsmanship. The top with beveled corners is provided with a special marquetry of a bust on a jug-shaped stand flanked by various vases and jugs under an arch crowned by a canopy with draperies. The top consists of three parts; both sides can be folded open under which a green upholstered compartment. The tilting middle compartment has a mirror that can be slid back and forth. The front with five drawers, one with compartments and a small pull-out writing surface with green upholstery. The front and sides with an oval medallion with jug crowned by a bow. On four curved legs provided with gilded bronze mounts.
